Description
This is One month Online consultations sessions (10 session in total) for National Basketball (NB) Development strategy design.
Key areas of NB development will include:
- Create a Coach Education centre for current coaches.
IBU will provide a base for existing coaches to attend coaching seminars and clinics at selected times of the year to update their skills, understanding and coaching qualifications.
- Degree in Basketball Coaching.& management
Cooperation will deliver a Bachelor and Master degrees in basketball coaching and management based on the programme that is delivered at IBU. Graduating students will become coaches, managers and volunteers, and will be able to facilitate the development and preparation of athletes, consistent with the principles of long-term athlete development.
- International Opportunities
Increase the opportunities coaches, players and officials to compete, participate and learn from strategic visits to Lithuania to experience the European basketball culture.
- Development Plans for youth basketball.
A strategy will be created to develop coach and player pathways. The template will focus upon basketball at all levels and cover all aspects of the game include partnerships with basketball clubs, officials and other universities.
- Develop research centre based on IBU model.
Basketball researchers will form part of the editorial board for the IBU research journal. Example of a study: Comparative study between European and Asian youth basketball players
